The second weekend we got together, was a little closer to home. We started out at a local coffee shop. It had a letterbox so we had to go. :) The drinks were fabulous. With a packet of clues off we went. we averaged about 1 box every 45 minutes. we did a lot of back tracking on some of the streets because we just didn't know the area very well.
We found the Hugest letterbox I have ever seen. It was a box with a bright blue lid and had to be 12 inches tall and 8 inches wide and 10 inches long. ridiculously huge. Only about 10 feet away was another box.
Then we went on a nice walk and seen a lot of animal being rehabilitated at a nature center. We did find this box but failed to realize that there was a bonus box.
Then off to a couple at a movie theater, and one in a restaurant where we had to have lunch. So pizza it was.
Then it off to find a few more. after all this the kids reminded me again that they get ice cream for going along. ( I'm beginning to think they tolerate the boxing for the treat.)
Then it was time to head home.
The next weekend we hooked up again and it was a cemetery tour of sorts. We must have visited at least 6 of them. I remember one being very small and one was very large and impressive.
Went To MSU for Ice Cream. Talk about a busy place. But they knew how to move a crowd. After that we found a few more boxes and worked out way home. I think that the time spent on these all day excursions are equivalent to going to an event. They start early and last all day. =)
