4 boxes and a Survivor!

The day started out with us having to go into Chelsea. (It was a work thing) Afterwards we couldn't decide to go to Ann Arbor or Dexter to hunt boxes. Well that was before we passed a sign that said Pinckney Recreation Area. So that is where we went. We went on about a 2 mile hike and found 4 boxes. The area was nice and they seemed to be quite popular. We had many hikers pass us and one couple stopped to ask what we were doing. We explained a bit about Letterboxing and they seemed intrigued.

The kids had fun looking for treasure and collecting pine cones. When we were hot and tired and at the end of the trail, The kids remembered that when we box they get Ice Cream. I had no idea where an Ice Cream Place might be but I was sure we would pass one somewhere on the way home. Thats when Dad spoke up and said I know one real close. We had only driven about 2 miles when we turn a corner and there it was. 'Screams' Ice Cream Shoppe. we were in Hell, MI. As we were walking to the front of the store I said "wouldn't it be neat if Erik from 'Survivor' was here. That is when the kids said he is! "right there". Sure enough there was Erik Reichenbach. We went on in and got our Ice Cream and on the way out we said "Hi Erik" then a few minutes later he came out and sat at the picnic table with us and we got photos, asked questions and listened to stories. it was another Great Day!!!!
