Finally, SPRING!

Wow! what a nice day. It was 60 degrees and sunny. So what is there to do? Letterbox of course. We decided to go to Kensington Park. We had an interesting walk. We started at the Nature Center where we seen and heard Whooping cranes. Man are they loud. Standing nearly 5 foot tall they are a sight to see. Upon reading the trail signs we decided to take the Deer Run trail. Shortly after starting Samspeed found a Pileated woodpecker up in a tree. Talk about a big bird. Further down and around a few boardwalks we were turning onto a shortcut and Mahoney stops and says "LOOK". There was a white tailed deer ON the trail we were getting ready to turn on. So we stayed very still until he wandered off the trail We proceeded to walk very slowly and quietly. He never moved very far off the trail even as we were passing him. He looked right at us and kept right on snacking on the branches around him. (could have been a her) While we were checking out the deer there was a flutter above our heads and all around. They were friendly little black-capped chickadees. I wish we would have brought some bird seed. I bet we could have had them eating out of our hands. I say this because one almost landed on my head. =) I scared it when I moved to see where it was. It was a great walk. Jax-jax was a trooper. He was getting tired so we rested on the benches back near the Nature Center. We sat there for awhile while deciding what to do next. This is when we all at the same time remembered the whenever we go letterboxing we get to get Ice Cream. Yea!!!!

We loaded up and headed home with a stop at Dairy Queen. =) YUM.

Daddy had a good day also...he went to go hit a little white ball :P

Woo hoo the news just said 64 degrees tomorrow. Hmmmm.......
