July 4th weekend...

This weekend is always one of our favorites. We started the weekend with a parade. I have to admit that it is so awesome to attend with a parade professional. When we got there about 5 minute before the parade starred. There were chairs already set up and even a blanket for the kids. We sit in the same spot every year. This is only due to the fact that the night before grandpa (the professional) goes and parks his truck, loaded with chairs and blankets, in our usual spot. The next morning he and Grandma make a 1-mile walk to get donuts and then another 1/2 mile to the truck to set up. This assures that we get the same spot every year. Since everyone knows where to find us we get quite the gathering, including the other grandparents too. The weather was perfect and enjoyable. After an hour and a half parade. we drive less then 5 minutes to Grandma and Papas house. We have a great lunch and swimming too. After a couple hours we travel across counties and Go to our friends house for dinner and fireworks. We see most of these friends on this one day every year. It was a great time.

Saturday we had a relaxing day to try to get caught up on the sleep that we missed yesterday.
Daddy decided that he was going to hit the golf course. We met him for dinner and it was then that he proposed that we go on a road trip. We rushed home packed and flew out the door. we were in Battle Creek two hours later. The next morning we were at the Air Show watching F-104s, old style F-18 Hornets, F-15 Eagles, and F-16 falcons which were the Air Forces Thunderbirds.
There were also a number of other planes that flew during this 5 and a half hour airshow.

After the airshow was over we headed for home. It was a laid back enjoyable weekend.
Cannot wait to see what other weekends we may have in store.
