Today I went to do maintenance on 2 of my boxes in Dauner-Martin Sanctuary. I had gotten a report that the logbooks were full. So I made 2 new logbooks and dropped the kids off at Grandmas and headed out.
It was raining by the time I got to the trails. I located the first one checked the book and it had a lot of room left. I did see a few new stamps in there though. One was one of the Girl Scouts that we had introduced to Lb'ing while we were on Mackinac Island. She must be doing them on her own now. =)
The second book was completely full. I replaced it with a new book and noticed that it has been less than 2 months since I planted this box. Woo Hoo. That is a lot of finders.
The flies liked to swarm on this trip, but there were no mosquitoes. I stayed relatively dry until I took the trail out. I came to a section where the weeds are all about hip high. While walking through them I became drenched. The rain was a steady drizzle but not bad. It was muggy and I was getting hot. I got back to the car and headed to get the kids. They were glad not to have gone and I was happy to get a full book. So it was a good day. =)
Now I only have 4 more boxes to check on.
maybe tomorrow....
